How to Choose The Right Perfume for Your Body Chemistry
Why does perfume smell different on everyone? There are several factors that come into play when figuring out how to choose the right perfume for your body Chemistry.
Temperature
Body Temperature: Warm blooded people have the advantage here! Warm skin means that the perfume molecules are moving faster and it will emit more fragrance in the air. People with cooler skin will find that perfumes tend to be softer on them and not quite as noticeable.
Want your perfume to smell stronger? If you want your perfume to smell stronger, it's not only about how much you apply, but WHERE - apply to pulse points - which tend to be warmer, such as the wrists, but other even warmer areas include behind the ears, at the bottom of the throat, inside of the elbow, and in the cleavage area.
If you want you perfume to be lighter - its not just about applying less, but to apply it to 'less warm' areas, like hair, clothing or cooler skin. This way you can control how much fragrance you emit.
Weather: Similarly, colder weather will make a perfume seem fainter, while warm weather will make a perfume seem stronger. This is why people sometimes choose lighter fragrances for the summer!
Skin Type
Oil is KEY here! Perfumes smell different and last different amounts of time on oily vs dry skin. Oil enhances fragrance well, and improves its strength and longevity. Using a perfume oil is a good to consider for longevity and continuous aroma.
Are perfume oils better than Alcohol based sprays? According to the chemists, perfumes are often made with ingredients which are attracted to oil/oily skin. This is why perfumes tend to fragrantly bloom on oily skin, but seem muted on dryer skin. Dry skin will especially suffer with alcohol loaded spray perfumes, as they can dry the skin more, and longevity will also suffer.
Summary: The more moisturized the skin, the longer the perfume tends to last. Be sure to drink your water to maintain good hydration!

What are Pheromones? The dictionary definition says “Pheromones are small molecules that, when released by one organism, act as chemical signals to induce a certain behavior in another organism of the same species.”
Do pheromones work? There is a lot of buzz on the internet lately about Pheromones and a lot of products that say they will give you instant pheromone attraction. But according to The Smithsonian Magazine - George Preti of the Monell Chemical Senses Center in Philadelphia said that a human pheromone hasn’t actually been discovered yet.
So, what is going into products containing pheromones? According to The Washington Post ”when you buy a product that claims pheromones as an ingredient, you're buying the finest in pig-produced chemicals.” Hmm, doesn’t sound like a fun idea to us.
Environmental and Dietary Factors
How does your environment effect your scent?
I’m not talking about where you live but what comes across your path. This could be the products you use: lotions, soaps, shampoos. It could be the air you breathe: cigarette smoke could definitely effect it.
How does your diet effect your scent? What you eat can change your scent - it can also effect your PH balance.
Personal Preference
All this science and information is interesting; however, realistically it just boils down to personal preference.
